We now have the information RE kinship from Grassroots, any member considering the purchase of a ram can now have a Kinship Report produced to check the interbreeding co-efficient with their females and gives an indication of how related two animals are to each other. – This is important as stock numbers are low. There is no charge to members for this service. Please do contact us to make use of this service.

Walmer Elgin, registered 3 year old ram, proven stock getter.
Unfortunately Elgin is too closely related to our ewes and with his old blood lines (great grandsire is Roughland Peter bought by us at Stoneleigh in 1992) he deserves to contribute to the North Ronaldsay gene pool in another flock. He is a correct, good looking ram, halter trained and would be an asset to someone’s show team for next season – perhaps even a junior shepherd contender. He has been shown once at the Border Union Show, (2025) winning his class and going reserve champion amongst mixed breeds.
Available in the New Year onwards, collected from us in the Scottish Borders. Price £70 ono.
